About the Role
This part-time opportunity of 20 to 30 hours per week centres on providing high-quality nursing care during the late shift within a residential setting designed as a supportive home for older adults who require ongoing care and support. The environment consists of nine shared living groups, each housing twelve to fourteen residents, allowing for personalised attention and a community-focused approach. As a Diplomierte:r Gesundheits- und Krankenpfleger:in für Spätdienst you will form an integral part of the care team helping to maintain residents’ wellbeing throughout the evening hours in Graz, Österreich.
What You'll Do
- Deliver professional nursing interventions and personal care tailored to the needs of elderly residents during the Spätdienst period.
- Monitor health status, administer prescribed treatments and document care activities accurately.
- Support daily living activities while fostering a sense of security and comfort within the Hausgemeinschaften.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure seamless care continuity across shifts.
- Respond promptly to changes in residents’ conditions and coordinate with physicians or other specialists as needed.
- Contribute to a respectful living atmosphere that values each individual’s dignity and preferences.
Skills & Qualifications
- Recognised diploma as Diplomierte:r Gesundheits- und Krankenpfleger:in or equivalent professional registration valid in Österreich.
- Demonstrated competence in geriatric and long-term care practices suitable for residential settings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during late-shift hours in a structured care home.
- Strong observational, communication and documentation skills essential for resident safety.
- Empathy and reliability when supporting people with care and support needs in related Diakoniewerk Steiermark environments.
- Willingness to engage fully in the Spätdienst schedule at Haus am Ruckerlberg in Graz.
