About This Opportunity

We are representing a respected global digital media organization seeking a Digital Content Editor on a casual basis. This remote position in the United Kingdom offers flexible scheduling with mutually agreed shifts offered on an ad-hoc basis. You are free to accept or decline work as it becomes available.

Our client operates a fast-paced digital newsroom publishing across multiple platforms, reaching millions of readers monthly with breaking news, analysis, and multimedia content.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with editors and reporters to create and refine digital content for immediate publication
• Edit copy, headlines, images, captions, graphics, and video for accuracy, clarity, and reader impact
• Transform source material into original stories through additional reporting, expert commentary, and contextual analysis
• Source and prepare relevant images and video content, ensuring proper verification, rights clearance, and attribution
• Leverage audience analytics to inform editorial decisions and optimize content performance, reach, and engagement
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to reporters to elevate journalistic standards
• Coordinate with social media, SEO, and multimedia teams to maximize content effectiveness
• Maintain accuracy and meet tight publishing deadlines in a high-pressure environment
• Undertake other reasonable duties as needed to support business objectives

What We're Looking For

• Significant relevant experience in digital editing and reporting roles at reputable news organizations
• Strong news judgment across diverse subject areas and story types
• Proven track record of editing quickly and accurately in fast-paced digital environments
• Excellent writing, rewriting, and copy-editing skills with attention to detail
• Demonstrable knowledge of content management systems (WordPress experience a plus)
• Proficiency with digital publishing tools including SEO platforms, audience analytics, and editing assistance software
• Strong working knowledge of common IT tools such as Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining communication with the editorial team
