About this role & career path
Heavy/tractor-trailer driving builds on a Class A CDL, clean record expectations, and hours-of-service discipline. Dedicated intermodal routes can mean more predictable customers and schedules than pure OTR. Advancement is typically stronger equipment, preferred freight, lead/trainer roles, or operations—not a fixed ladder in the provided data.
Build the skills for this role
Essentials: valid Class A CDL, ELDT completion where required, safe backing, electronic logging, and intermodal terminal awareness. Official overview: FMCSA — CDL & Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements (free info).
Free & low-cost learning resources
Be ready to discuss CDL status/endorsements, accident/violation history, experience with drop-and-hook or intermodal yards, how you manage HOS and fatigue, and comfort with dedicated (same account/lanes) vs. irregular OTR. Ask about home time, detention, and equipment for this Pineville-area dedicated run.

Strong fit if you hold CDL-A, prefer no-touch freight, and want dedicated intermodal structure over constant load-board shopping. Less ideal if you need remote/office work or dislike terminal waits and tight appointment windows.
