Data Scientist II, Infrastructure

As they continue to grow, they need talented data scientists who can help make their technical systems more measurable and actionable.

We're seeking a Data Scientist II to join their Infrastructure Data Science team. In this role, you'll partner with engineering teams to build measurement systems and analytical frameworks that optimize core technical infrastructure. Your work will span areas like app performance, metrics quality, infrastructure governance, and site reliability.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering teams to define, measure, and improve the health, quality, and efficiency of infrastructure systems
• Build and refine metrics, dashboards, and analytical frameworks that make complex technical systems understandable and actionable
• Strengthen data foundations by improving metric definitions, auditing data quality, and contributing to pipeline and measurement improvements
• Design and analyze experiments, investigations, and deep dives to quantify the impact of infrastructure changes on user experience, reliability, and business outcomes
• Translate ambiguous technical problems into clear analyses and actionable recommendations for engineering partners
• Support high-priority investigations related to infrastructure performance, reliability, cost, and measurement quality
• Identify opportunities to improve measurement and optimization across domains including performance, governance, and site reliability

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Biostatistics, or equivalent experience in a relevant quantitative field
• Strong SQL and analytical programming skills, with experience working through messy data and building reliable metrics and datasets
• Experience partnering on or contributing to production-ready data pipelines, measurement systems, or foundational data work that improves data quality
• Solid foundation in experimentation and measurement, with ability to design analyses and interpret results rigorously
• Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear analytical workstreams and actionable recommendations
• Strong cross-functional communication skills, with ability to explain technical findings clearly to engineering, product, and platform stakeholders
• Ability to operate independently, prioritize across both longer-term projects and fast-turn requests, and drive work forward in dynamic environments
• Curiosity and builder mindset, with excitement for improving systems and creating scalable, trustworthy measurement foundations

Location: Remote, anywhere in the world. This role requires in-person collaboration 1-2 times per quarter.
