Join Ramboll as a Senior Lead Consultant in Air Compliance for a full-time remote position based in Rochester, New York. As a member of our consulting team, you'll lead high-impact air quality compliance initiatives while advancing your expertise in environmental strategy and regulatory affairs.

What This Role Involves

As a Senior Lead Consultant specializing in air compliance, you'll be a trusted advisor to clients across diverse industries, guiding them through evolving air quality standards and environmental regulations. Your work will span regulatory interpretation, compliance strategy, permitting support, and technical advisory services that help organizations maintain or achieve compliance while managing operational and financial risk. You'll combine deep technical knowledge with strategic thinking to solve complex environmental challenges and support business objectives.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead air compliance projects from initial assessment through implementation and ongoing monitoring
• Interpret and advise clients on federal, state, and local air quality regulations and their business impact
• Develop compliance strategies, operational procedures, and risk mitigation plans tailored to client needs
• Support permit applications, air quality monitoring programs, and regulatory submissions
• Mentor junior consultants and support team delivery on environmental compliance assignments
• Stay current with regulatory changes and emerging air quality standards affecting client operations

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in environmental science, engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years of professional experience in air quality compliance, environmental consulting, or regulatory affairs
• Deep knowledge of air quality regulations (CAA, NAAQS, Title V, NSPS, NESHAP, and state/local equivalents)
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and mentor team members
• Strong analytical, communication, and client management skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, remote work environment
