Clinical Nurse Coordinator Surgical Cardiology

HCA HealthONE Swedish is hiring a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Surgical Cardiology department in Englewood, Arapahoe County. In this full-time role, you'll be the vital link between our cardiothoracic surgical team and patients, ensuring seamless care coordination before, during, and after complex cardiac procedures.

About the Role

As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in Surgical Cardiology, you'll manage the patient journey through our cardiac surgery program. You'll work closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care in one of the most dynamic areas of cardiac medicine.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate pre-operative assessments and patient preparation for cardiac surgical procedures
• Serve as the primary communication point between the surgical team and patients throughout their care episode
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and self-care requirements
• Monitor patient progress post-operatively and identify clinical concerns for immediate physician notification
• Schedule procedures, tests, and follow-up appointments while optimizing OR and unit efficiency
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation meets regulatory and clinical standards
• Advocate for patient needs and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration across nursing, cardiology, and surgical services
• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices in surgical cardiology

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in Colorado
• Background in surgical nursing, cardiac nursing, or acute care settings
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Ability to manage complex patient cases with compassion and clinical insight
• Knowledge of cardiac surgery procedures and post-operative management a plus
• Commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes
