Clerical Assistant III – CAS

The City of Corvallis is hiring a Clerical Assistant III to provide essential administrative and office support across our municipal departments in Corvallis, Benton County. This is a part-time position offering varied, hands-on work in a collaborative government office environment.

About This Position

As a Clerical Assistant III with the City of Corvallis, you'll serve as a critical backbone of daily office operations. Your work bridges customer interactions, document management, and administrative coordination across various city departments. You'll handle a broad spectrum of clerical tasks—from greeting and assisting the public to managing records, processing transactions, and supporting departmental workflows. This role offers variety in your day-to-day responsibilities and the chance to directly support city employees and residents alike.

What You'll Do

• Greet and assist visitors and callers; direct inquiries to appropriate departments
• Manage word processing, document creation, and office correspondence
• Scan, file, and organize documents using appropriate systems and protocols
• Handle data entry and maintain accurate records and filing systems
• Process customer payments, registrations, and associated fee collection
• Coordinate mail distribution, incoming materials, and outgoing communications
• Support meeting scheduling and calendar management for departmental staff
• Perform copying, faxing, and document reproduction tasks
• Assist with accounts receivable and general purchasing support duties
• Proofread, edit, and format materials for accuracy and clarity
