Miller Transfer is recruiting a Class A CDL Owner Operator for full-time, over-the-road flatbed trucking based in Columbia, Columbia County. This role is ideal for experienced truck drivers with 2+ years of professional experience who operate their own equipment and seek competitive earnings with a company that values owner-operator independence.

Role Overview

You'll run your own flatbed operation in the over-the-road segment, hauling freight across regional and national routes as a Class A CDL owner-operator. Miller Transfer structures compensation to reward every mile you drive—whether loaded or empty—with owner-operators averaging $3.30 or more per mile. Settlements happen five days weekly, supporting consistent cash flow for your business while maintaining the autonomy that comes with owning your truck.

Core Duties

• Operate your Class A CDL flatbed truck for over-the-road freight transport throughout service territory
• Secure and transport freight loads in compliance with DOT regulations and industry safety standards
• Execute pre-trip and post-trip inspections; coordinate maintenance on your equipment
• Maintain accurate logbooks and communication with dispatch scheduling
• Plan efficient routes to meet customer delivery windows and optimize profitability

Qualifications

• Current Class A Commercial Driver's License with clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years of verifiable truck driving experience
• Owned flatbed truck or access to reliable equipment meeting carrier requirements
• Current liability insurance and compliance certifications
• Ability to manage the business responsibilities of owner-operator status
• DOT medical certification and ability to pass background screening
