About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential marketplace platform that has achieved significant scale and profitability. Our client operates a performance-based business model serving the North American real estate sector, with distributed teams and strong unit economics. They are at an inflection point where the founder needs a partner to own execution so he can focus on strategic growth.

This is a rare opportunity to step in as Chief Operating Officer and truly run the business—not decorate it with frameworks, but own the P&L, the people, and the pace of delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the company operating system: departmental goals, scorecards, KPIs, and weekly accountability rhythms across supply, demand, and product functions
  • Manage department heads directly—run their cadence, remove obstacles, ensure leaders deliver against measurable targets with guardrails to prevent metric gaming
  • Own P&L discipline including unit economics by department, cost containment, and consistent achievement of monthly net profit targets
  • Drive cross-functional execution when launches require coordination across multiple teams, ensuring on-time delivery without quality erosion
  • Lead hiring strategy and organizational design as the business expands into adjacent verticals
  • Take full ownership of day-to-day operations so the CEO can dedicate focus to product vision and new growth initiatives

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience running operations at a proptech or marketplace business generating at least $10M in annual revenue—this is a non-negotiable requirement
  • Deep fluency in performance marketing and marketplace metrics: cost per lead, earnings per lead, funnel conversion math, and refund or churn economics
  • Track record managing remote, distributed teams across multiple time zones
  • A bias toward simplicity and scoreboard management rather than process creation for its own sake
  • Direct communication style with the confidence to challenge leadership when necessary
  • Bonus: experience scaling a company through a major growth phase or exit event
  • This is not a strategy consulting role—you must be someone who ships measurable outcomes, not PowerPoint decks
  • Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Germany
