Chemical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Technician (f/m/d) Analytics & Synthesis

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential deep-tech organization in Leipzig that is working on next-generation materials development. Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Laboratory Assistant or Lab Technician to serve as the analytical backbone of their research operations. This is a hands-on technical role where precision measurement and reliable synthesis support are essential to advancing innovative materials research.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine instrumental and wet-chemical analyses to characterize advanced materials, including NMR, IR spectroscopy, DSC, and titrations
• Execute synthesis procedures, specifically polycondensations, at bench and pilot scale according to established standard operating procedures
• Maintain smooth daily laboratory operations including glassware preparation and maintenance, sample preparation, material drying, and general lab organization
• Ensure measurement data integrity through regular calibration of analytical instruments and meticulous documentation in lab journals
• Assist in drafting clear standard operating procedures for laboratory processes
• Maintain a safe, high-standard working environment compliant with good laboratory practice (GLP) principles
• Ensure analytical equipment is properly maintained and ready for continuous use

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed vocational training as a Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Chemielaborant, or similar technical qualification with strong practical bench experience
• Demonstrated practical expertise in instrumental and wet-chemical analytics, particularly NMR, IR, DSC, and titration techniques
• Experience conducting organic syntheses safely according to established protocols and SOPs
• Technical confidence operating analytical instruments, preparing samples, and performing routine instrument calibrations
• Detail-oriented and reliable approach with a hands-on "maker" mentality
• Working knowledge of English sufficient for technical documentation and team communication
• Experience in polymer testing (MFR/MFI, tensile testing) or plastics laboratory work is a strong advantage
• Knowledge of polymer chemistry or reactor operations is beneficial but not required
