About the Role
As a Class A CDL driver with Dollar General Fleet, you will operate tractor‑trailer rigs on dedicated regional routes that keep stores stocked and support new store openings across the country. The schedule is structured to get you home every week, so you can spend time with family and pets.
What You'll Do
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight at distribution centers and Dollar General stores, following proper securing procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of hours of service, mileage, and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate with dispatch and warehouse staff to coordinate timely pickups and deliveries.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, traffic laws, and environmental standards while on the road.
- Complete basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and reporting mechanical issues.
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and meet all federal medical requirements.
- Experience handling dry van or refrigerated trailers is preferred but not required.
- Strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Willingness to follow regional routes that allow weekly home time.
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices and willingness to learn company‑specific systems.
