About the Role
As a Class A truck driver for Dollar General Fleet, you'll transport merchandise and supplies from our distribution facilities to retail stores across the region. This is a home weekly position, meaning you'll be back home with your family every seven days—and yes, you can bring them along for the ride.
What You'll Do
- Operate a Class A commercial vehicle safely and efficiently on regional routes
- Transport goods from distribution centers to Dollar General store locations and new markets
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Secure, load, and unload cargo while adhering to weight and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery documentation
- Communicate with dispatch and management regarding route status and any issues
- Follow all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies
What We're Looking For
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
- Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification
- Clean driving record meeting company standards
- Minimum 1–2 years of recent professional driving experience (preferred)
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong commitment to safe driving practices and attention to detail
- Reliable, professional demeanor and customer-focused approach
