CDL-A Company Driver – 1-5mo EXP Required – OTR – Dry Van – U.S. Xpress – OTR

U.S. Xpress is hiring full-time CDL-A company drivers out of Windber, Somerset County for over-the-road dry van operations. This position is designed for drivers with one to five months of OTR experience who value competitive mileage rates and flexible home time.

About the Role

You'll operate company-owned dry van equipment on established freight lanes across the United States. This full-time role offers the independence of solo driving or the earning potential of team operations, with the flexibility to maintain a home time schedule that works for your lifestyle.

What You'll Do

• Operate and maintain company-provided dry van equipment
• Coordinate with dispatchers and logistics teams to manage delivery schedules
• Perform required vehicle inspections and maintain safety compliance
• Track hours of service and adhere to Department of Transportation regulations
• Maintain professional relationships with shippers, receivers, and customers

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL-A license with one to five months of over-the-road experience
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background screening and medical evaluation
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
• Strong time management and independent work capabilities
• Professional communication skills and customer service mindset

Compensation & Opportunities

Solo drivers earn between 57 and 64 cents per mile depending on experience level, averaging 2,000 miles per week with a $4,000 sign-on bonus. Team drivers receive 72 to 80 cents per mile (split), averaging approximately 5,000 miles weekly with a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Experienced drivers in our fleet regularly earn $1,600 or more per week.
