About This Position
As a CDL-A Company Driver with U.S. Xpress - OTR, you'll operate from our Charleston, Kanawha County location, handling dedicated dry van hauls on long-distance routes throughout the country. This full-time over-the-road role offers consistent mileage, predictable scheduling, and competitive compensation structured to reward safe, reliable performance.
What You'll Do
- Operate a commercial vehicle equipped for long-haul dry van freight transportation
- Maintain logs, documentation, and pre-trip inspections according to DOT regulations
- Deliver loads safely and on schedule across multi-state routes
- Communicate with dispatchers and maintain professional relationships with shippers and receivers
Compensation & Benefits
U.S. Xpress - OTR offers an attractive pay structure for CDL-A drivers:
- Competitive per-mile rates ranging from 57¢ to 64¢ depending on your experience level
- Earn an average of 2,000 miles weekly, with top-performing drivers in our OTR division reaching $1,700 per week
- Guaranteed weekly minimum pay of $1,500 based on a 12-days-out, 2-days-home schedule
- $4,000 sign-on bonus for new company drivers
- Team driver opportunities available with $5,000 sign-on bonus and $0.72 to $0.80 per-mile split, averaging 5,000 miles weekly
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license with a clean driving record
- 1-5 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass background checks and DOT medical certification
- Professional attitude and strong commitment to safety and on-time delivery
