McDaniels Ford is hiring an Automotive Diesel Technician at our Pecan Way Terrace location in Orangeburg County. If you're a skilled mechanic with expertise in diesel engine systems and a commitment to quality automotive repair, we want you on our team.
About the Role
We're seeking a full-time Automotive Diesel Technician to join McDaniels Ford's service department. You'll diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel-powered vehicles, using your technical expertise to keep our customers' vehicles running at peak performance. This is hands-on work for someone who takes pride in precision and quality craftsmanship.
What You'll Do
- Perform diagnostic testing on diesel engines and fuel injection systems
- Complete preventive maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections
- Repair and troubleshoot diesel engine components, drivetrains, and related systems
- Operate specialized diagnostic equipment and hand tools
- Document all service work accurately and communicate repairs to customers
- Adhere to all safety protocols and shop procedures
- Support other team members to maintain service quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as an automotive or diesel technician
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with diesel engine systems, fuel systems, and emissions standards
- Ability to use shop equipment and digital diagnostic tools
- ASE certification (or willingness to obtain) a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Professional attitude and reliable work ethic
