About the Role

As Assistant Store Manager at our Portage location, you'll work full time alongside our Store Manager to keep operations running smoothly. You'll be responsible for opening and closing the store, managing staff schedules, ensuring compliance with company standards, and stepping up as acting manager in the Store Manager's absence. This is a hands-on position where you'll contribute directly to store success every single day.

What You'll Do

• Supervise store staff during assigned shifts and ensure excellent customer service standards
• Receive merchandise, process inventory, and maintain organized stockrooms
• Handle cash register operations, reconcile drawers, and manage daily financial accuracy
• Enforce loss prevention procedures and maintain a clean, safe store environment
• Train team members on company policies, procedures, and product knowledge
• Complete opening and closing duties, including safety checks and security protocols
• Assist with scheduling, hiring recommendations, and performance management
• Respond to customer concerns and resolve issues professionally

What We're Looking For

• Age 21 or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Retail management or supervisory experience preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
• Cash handling and point-of-sale system proficiency
• Physical ability to lift merchandise, stand for extended periods, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Commitment to safety, accuracy, and customer satisfaction
