About the Role

As Associate General Counsel - Tax (Employee Benefits & Compensation), you will serve as a trusted legal advisor on the tax dimensions of the company's benefit programs and compensation arrangements. Based in McLean, Virginia, you will partner with colleagues across legal, human resources, and finance to deliver sound, practical guidance on complex regulatory questions.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on the tax treatment of employee benefit plans, including qualified retirement plans and health and welfare programs.
• Provide counsel on executive and deferred compensation structures and their associated tax implications.
• Interpret federal tax law and regulations as they apply to benefits and compensation, helping ensure ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and resolve sophisticated tax matters.
• Support the drafting and review of plan documents, agreements, and related legal materials.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
• Significant experience advising on tax issues within employee benefits and compensation.
• Strong command of relevant provisions of the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA.
• Sharp analytical judgment paired with clear, accessible communication.
• Ability to work on-site in McLean, Fairfax County, as part of a collaborative legal team.
