Associate Director, Ethics & Compliance Advisor, HIV Treatment

Gilead Sciences, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Ethics & Compliance Advisor for our HIV Treatment program in Belmont, San Mateo County. This is a full-time position with a company that has spent over three decades pioneering therapies for HIV, viral hepatitis, and other serious diseases—while ensuring patients worldwide have access to these lifesaving treatments.

About the Role

As Associate Director of Ethics & Compliance for our HIV Treatment initiatives, you'll drive ethical and regulatory integrity across our clinical and therapeutic programs. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, helping ensure our HIV treatment development aligns with the highest ethical standards and regulatory requirements that guide responsible pharmaceutical advancement.

What You'll Do

• Advise internal teams on ethics and compliance considerations specific to HIV treatment programs and clinical development
• Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and medical affairs leaders to embed compliance and ethical principles into program strategy
• Support development and oversight of policies ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and ethical best practices
• Assess and review HIV treatment initiatives for compliance and ethical alignment
• Function as the subject matter expert on ethics and compliance matters within your therapeutic area
• Lead or contribute to training and awareness efforts that strengthen ethical culture across the organization

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree (JD, MBA, MPH, or equivalent) or substantial professional experience in compliance, ethics, or regulatory affairs
• Proven track record working in ethics, compliance, or regulatory affairs within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare environments
• Familiarity with HIV treatment, infectious disease therapeutics, or clinical development strongly preferred
• Ability to translate complex regulatory and ethical frameworks into clear, actionable guidance
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence across organizational levels
• Deep commitment to ethical principles and patient-centric healthcare delivery
