Asset Management – Tax-Smart Portfolio Manager – Associate

In this full-time position, you'll develop tax-efficient investment solutions that help sophisticated clients preserve wealth while pursuing their financial objectives.

About the Role

Within J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Customized Managed Account Solutions division, the Tax-Smart team manages more than $50 billion in client assets. As an Associate, you'll be part of a high-growth unit focused on engineering and executing tax-aware investment strategies that span multiple vehicles and approaches, from passive index strategies to active management overlays.

What You'll Do

• Build and oversee tax-efficient portfolio strategies customized to individual client goals
• Execute both active and passive tax-aware investment approaches across the product suite
• Administer unified managed accounts (UMAs) and direct-indexing solutions
• Manage active tax-overlay programs to enhance net-of-fee returns
• Work alongside portfolio managers and client advisors to implement and monitor strategies
• Track market developments, tax law changes, and regulatory shifts impacting client positions
• Analyze portfolio performance through a tax-efficiency lens

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline
• Solid understanding of tax-efficient investing and portfolio optimization techniques
• Quantitative skills and experience with financial analysis and modeling
• Knowledge of investment structures including UMAs, long-short equity, and direct indexing
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
• Detail-oriented approach to data management and reporting accuracy
• Series 7 and Series 63 licenses, or readiness to pursue them
