ARC Peer Tutor – Evening Shift

Join State Tech's Academic Resource Center as a part-time Peer Tutor in mathematics this fall and spring. Help fellow students strengthen their algebra skills and succeed in their coursework while gaining valuable experience supporting academic excellence in a peer mentoring environment.

About the Role

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) at State Tech offers tutoring and academic support to students across disciplines. As a peer tutor working evening hours, you'll provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to help classmates understand mathematics concepts and build problem-solving confidence.

What You'll Do

• Tutor students in mathematics in a supportive, collaborative setting
• Explain concepts clearly and help students develop independent learning strategies
• Work with students at various skill levels to build conceptual understanding
• Contribute to a welcoming academic support environment

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled as a State Tech student
• Strong grasp of college algebra—grade of B or higher, or currently enrolled in the course
• Clear communication and patience when explaining mathematical concepts
• Reliable and professional approach to supporting peer learners

Position Details

This is a part-time position available for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters, with evening shift hours.
