Girls Flag Football Assistant Coach – Differential Position

Champaign Unit 4 School District is hiring a full-time Girls Flag Football Assistant Coach at Centennial High School to help develop and mentor student-athletes for the 2026-2027 season. About the Role

You'll join our coaching staff as an assistant responsible for day-to-day development of student-athletes in girls flag football. Working alongside the head coach, you'll design and lead practice sessions, guide players through skill mastery and tactical understanding, and foster a competitive yet inclusive team culture. This differential position is essential to program success and allows you to directly influence student-athlete development both in athletic ability and personal growth.

What You'll Do

• Plan and lead practice drills that build fundamentals in route running, defensive coverage, and game strategy
• Assess player performance and provide constructive coaching feedback tailored to individual development needs
• Support game-day operations, including player preparation, sideline coaching, and post-game analysis
• Cultivate a positive team environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, safety, and student success
• Collaborate with athletic department staff on scheduling, compliance with IHSA regulations, and program logistics
• Build relationships with athletes and families to support recruitment and retention

Requirements

• Current Illinois High School Association (IHSA) coaching certification in football, OR
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Solid understanding of flag football rules, coaching methods, and athlete development principles
• Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with diverse learners
• Demonstrated commitment to student safety, athletic integrity, and inclusive program culture
