About the Role

As an Apartment Manager at Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of apartment complexes that provide supportive housing to individuals and families in need. Your work directly impacts residents' ability to thrive in a secure, well-maintained environment. This is hands-on work that combines practical problem-solving with genuine care for the people we serve.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of apartment buildings and common areas
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair issues from residents
• Manage move-ins, move-outs, and unit inspections to maintain property standards
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance work
• Ensure all areas meet safety codes, fire regulations, and building standards
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and property conditions
• Build positive relationships with residents and address concerns professionally
• Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Proven experience in building maintenance, apartment management, or related field
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with hands-on capability
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Reliability, strong work ethic, and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
• Commitment to serving vulnerable populations with respect and compassion
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
