About the Role

As an Ammonia Refrigeration Lead at Prestage, you'll oversee critical refrigeration infrastructure and lead a team of technicians. You'll be responsible for system maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical issues, and ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines technical expertise with supervisory responsibilities.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor ammonia refrigeration technicians on daily operations and maintenance tasks
• Inspect and monitor ammonia refrigeration systems for safety, performance, and efficiency
• Perform diagnostics and coordinate repairs on refrigeration equipment and components
• Maintain detailed logs and documentation of all system maintenance, repairs, and inspections
• Ensure compliance with EPA regulations, OSHA requirements, and industry safety standards
• Respond to emergency issues and coordinate system shutdowns or restarts as needed
• Collaborate with other departments to support facility operations and production schedules
• Train new team members on proper equipment handling and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating and maintaining ammonia refrigeration systems
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience managing technical teams
• Strong knowledge of EPA regulations and ammonia refrigeration compliance
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and system issues
• Sound understanding of safety practices and commitment to accident prevention
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work full-time hours including potential on-call responsibilities
