AI Innovation Engineer – IT Security (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization based in Munich that is redefining security awareness training through cutting-edge technology. Our client is seeking an AI Innovation Engineer to drive the next generation of their human risk and security awareness products. This is a high-visibility role working at the intersection of AI, threat intelligence, and enterprise security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess emerging innovations in the cybersecurity market by analyzing competitor activity, customer requirements, and industry trends
• Validate innovation concepts through rapid prototyping and structured experimentation, delivering actionable insights on feasibility, cost, and business value
• Build working prototypes independently when validation requires hands-on technical demonstration
• Lead innovation projects directly with enterprise customers, establishing trusted relationships and translating their needs into testable solutions
• Conduct structured experiments with customers to validate new features and capabilities in real-world environments
• Deliver comprehensive insights from validation efforts, determining whether innovations are worth pursuing at scale
• Collaborate closely with the innovation team to shape product strategy and positioning

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong background in IT security with solid understanding of modern threat landscapes, particularly social engineering and multi-channel attacks
• Proven ability to build prototypes independently and rapidly when validation requires technical demonstration
• Detail-oriented approach that goes beyond surface-level functionality to deliver substantive insights
• Confident communicator who can present effectively to enterprise customers and own projects end-to-end
• AI-native working style with AI tools integrated into daily workflow to maximize speed and productivity
• Fluent English communication skills for seamless collaboration with international teams and clients

Bonus Qualifications:

• Background in research or innovation roles
• Demonstrable quality of work through strong academic track record, reference projects, or documented results
• German language skills
• Experience working with deepfakes or advanced social engineering techniques
