About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential online travel organization in the DACH region as they search for a talented HR professional to join their team. This is a parental leave coverage position through summer 2028, offering a hybrid work arrangement between Ahrensburg and Hamburg.

Our client seeks someone who genuinely enjoys supporting people throughout their entire employee journey—from first contact through daily operations. You'll serve as a trusted HR partner across the full employee lifecycle, combining hands-on recruiting, empathetic employee relations, and reliable HR administration.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruitment for selected vacancies: draft and post job advertisements, review applications, coordinate with candidates, and conduct selection activities including phone screens, video interviews, assessment days, and trial work sessions
• Serve as the empathetic go-to contact for employees on all HR-related questions, both in-person at the Ahrensburg and Hamburg offices and via email and phone
• Guide employees through complete onboarding and offboarding processes
• Actively participate in feedback sessions and employee performance conversations
• Execute all administrative HR tasks including employment certificate preparation, electronic sick leave retrieval, A1 certificates, maintaining the HR management system, and generating relevant reports
• Prepare payroll data and serve as liaison to the external tax office for monthly salary processing
• Provide administrative office management support such as ordering supplies and coordinating service provider appointments
• Support planning and execution of company events

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree or comparable training in human resources management, business administration, or related field—alternatively, initial relevant professional experience in HR
• Practical exposure to operational HR management, HR administration, or experience as an HR generalist
• Strong communication skills with pronounced service orientation; confident interacting at all organizational levels with genuine enjoyment of engaging diverse people and departments
• Conscientious and absolutely trustworthy handling of sensitive data
• Hands-on mentality with structured, careful work approach; pragmatic and self-driven in advancing priorities
• Proficiency with standard MS Office applications
• Very good German communication skills and confident English
• Interest in the tourism sector is appreciated but not required
• Basic knowledge of labor and social security law advantageous but not mandatory—gaps can be developed together with the team

Position Details

Location: Ahrensburg with regular presence in Hamburg (hybrid model combining office and remote work)

Employment type: Fixed-term contract through summer 2028 (parental leave coverage), minimum 35 hours per week
