AI Engineer (m/w/d) – Implementation & Consulting

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI consulting firm based in Frankfurt am Main. Our client builds production-ready AI solutions—not slide decks. They work with established institutions and mid-market organizations, delivering knowledge platforms, agent workflows, and automated processes that run in real-world environments.

This is an early-stage opportunity. Our client is a small, growing team planning significant expansion. You'll work directly with leadership and clients, shaping solutions from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build modern AI applications using LLMs, RAG systems, agents, and machine learning frameworks
• Develop solutions from prototype through stable production systems
• Design, integrate, and optimize AI workflows for client environments
• Provide technical support during workshops and client engagements
• Prepare technical concepts and documentation
• Collaborate directly with leadership and customers throughout the development lifecycle

What We're Looking For

• 2–4 years of experience in software development, AI engineering, or ML practice
• Strong Python programming skills
• Hands-on experience with frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex, and APIs from providers like OpenAI or Anthropic
• Practical knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG architectures, and evaluation methodologies
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Fluent German and good English communication skills
• Comfort with client-facing work and occasional on-site visits
