Agentic Identity Security Consultant

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity consultancy seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work on cutting-edge agentic identity platforms. This is a hands-on technical role for engineers who build production systems and want to stay close to code rather than transition into pure architecture or management.

Our client is addressing one of the most pressing challenges in enterprise AI adoption: securing autonomous agents that authenticate across multiple systems, spawn sub-agents, and delegate authority in ways traditional identity frameworks weren't designed to handle. You'll be building the authorization engines, agent registries, and policy platforms that become the reference architecture for the industry.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship services in the agentic identity stack, including authorization engines, agent registries, credential brokers, and authentication layers for MCP servers
• Own components end-to-end from design through implementation, deployment, and production operations including incident response
• Reverse-engineer existing identity implementations in client environments and design next-generation solutions
• Prototype against emerging standards and vendor betas, often working without complete documentation
• Develop internal tooling and reference implementations that the broader practice can reuse
• Present technical designs to client engineering teams and defend architectural decisions under scrutiny
• Deploy to production environments and be accountable when systems fail
• Work directly with Fortune 100 clients as systems run in their environments

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years professional experience building and shipping production software
• Hands-on technical work within the last 18 months (production development, prototyping, or code review)
• Minimum 2 years professional development in Python, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Java, or C++
• Minimum 2 years building concurrent or distributed systems that ran in production
• Minimum 2 years hands-on experience deploying and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including containers and CI/CD pipelines
• At least one production service or component you owned end-to-end, covering design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing operation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or 12+ years work experience (Associate's degree with 6+ years also accepted)

Preferred experience:

• OAuth 2.0, OIDC, token exchange, SAML, SPIFFE, PKI, or mTLS
• MCP, agent frameworks, or LLM application development
• Identity and access management, IGA, PAM, secrets management, or non-human identity
• Applied cryptography with awareness of knowledge boundaries
• Production on-call rotation participation
• Strong judgment about when to use libraries, vendor products, or custom code

Travel may range from 0-100% depending on client requirements. Work authorization in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
