VP, Human Resources Business Partner

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential professional services organization in their search for a VP, Human Resources Business Partner. This role serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning people initiatives with organizational objectives while providing hands-on HR expertise across multiple functions.

The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to management and employees, balancing business priorities with employee needs. You'll be responsible for driving HR strategy, fostering strong working relationships across all levels, and ensuring compliance while building consensus for meaningful organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR business partner for assigned business units in an enterprise environment, supporting employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, learning and leadership development, and compliance
• Consult and partner with management at all levels on strategic people initiatives
• Recommend and implement policies and procedures for employee relations, internal communications, retention programs, HR compliance, benefits, and performance evaluation
• Develop and administer annual performance review processes to ensure transparency, effective leadership, and employee development
• Analyze HR trends and data to develop solutions, programs, and policies that support business outcomes
• Conduct exit interviews and provide insights to management for continuous improvement
• Oversee policy administration and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Provide performance management guidance including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
• Partner with employees and managers on employee relations issues, documentation, and remedial action
• Evaluate and monitor training programs and conduct needs analyses for specific client groups
• Coordinate FMLA leave and other leave of absence requests
• Conduct FLSA audits and recommend classification changes as needed

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business with HR emphasis or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 8+ years of HR experience in a professional services organization, with 2+ years in an AVP-level or equivalent role
• SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred
• Deep expertise across all HRBP functions including recruitment, job classification, benefits, compensation, performance management, and employee relations
• Prior experience partnering with HR Centers of Excellence to drive strategic HR initiatives
• Strong knowledge of personnel policy, federal and state employment laws, and labor relations regulations
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to varied situations with successful outcomes and openness to new approaches
• Excellent written, verbal, and organizational communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully across all organizational levels
• Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and multitasking capabilities
• Strategic thinking skills with ability to set direction
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience with Workday HRIS is a plus
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
