Join Wisconsin Humane Society's Racine Campus as a part-time Adoption Counselor/Animal Care Technician in Sturtevant, Racine County. You'll support our mission through direct animal care, adoption facilitation, and community education that strengthens the bond between pets and people.
About the Role
This part-time position is vital to the daily success of our Racine Campus. You'll work hands-on with animals, guide prospective adopters to their next family member, and help connect our community with adoption services and pet resources. Your contributions directly improve the lives of the animals we serve and the families who adopt them.
What You'll Do
- Provide compassionate, hands-on care and handling for animals in shelter settings
- Assist prospective adopters through the adoption process and match them with suitable pets
- Educate community members about responsible pet ownership and available services
- Support shelter operations and maintain clean, safe animal living environments
- Document animal information and adoption details with accuracy
- Work collaboratively with staff to uphold animal welfare standards
