Account Manager – Grocery Retail Merchandising

Dirty-hands is seeking an Account Manager - Grocery Retail Merchandising to join our team in Milpitas, CA. This full-time role places you at the intersection of retail operations, merchandising strategy, and customer relationships, managing key grocery accounts and driving sales growth through effective product placement and partnership.

What This Role Involves

As an Account Manager for Grocery Retail Merchandising, you'll build and maintain relationships with grocery retail partners while ensuring products are positioned competitively on shelves and in promotional spaces. You'll coordinate merchandising efforts, monitor inventory levels, resolve account issues, and identify growth opportunities. Your work directly impacts product visibility, customer purchasing decisions, and account profitability.

Core Duties

• Manage and service assigned grocery retail accounts, including store owners, managers, and category leads
• Monitor shelf space, product placement, and promotional displays to maximize retail presence
• Conduct regular account visits to assess inventory, check compliance with merchandising standards, and gather market feedback
• Coordinate order fulfillment, delivery schedules, and stock rotation with warehouse and logistics teams
• Track account performance metrics and report on sales trends, sell-through rates, and promotional effectiveness
• Identify and resolve product or service issues to maintain account satisfaction and retention
• Develop account growth strategies and pitch new products or promotional initiatives to retail partners
• Maintain accurate account records, pricing information, and contract details in company systems

Requirements

• 2+ years of retail account management, grocery merchandising, sales, or related field experience
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with retail partners at all levels
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple accounts, and meet deadlines
• Comfort with hands-on merchandising work, including product handling and display setup
• Basic proficiency with spreadsheets, CRM systems, and data entry
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within assigned territory
• Problem-solving mindset and customer-focused approach to account service
