Labcorp is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist in Amarillo, TX to join our growing team and provide essential bloodwork services to our patients and healthcare partners in the community.

What This Role Involves

As a Phlebotomist at our Amarillo location, you'll be the first and often most important contact for patients seeking laboratory testing. You'll perform venipuncture and capillary collections with precision and care, manage specimens according to clinical protocols, and maintain the high standards of patient service that define Labcorp's reputation. This is hands-on clinical work in a professional laboratory environment where accuracy, empathy, and attention to detail directly impact patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Draw blood and collect specimens from patients using proper venipuncture and capillary techniques
  • Label, process, and organize specimens according to laboratory standards and chain-of-custody protocols
  • Maintain accurate patient records and test requisition documentation
  • Follow OSHA safety standards, biohazard procedures, and infection control practices
  • Communicate clearly with patients, answer questions about collection procedures, and provide a comfortable, professional experience
  • Maintain and sanitize collection equipment and work areas
  • Meet collection quotas and quality benchmarks while delivering reliable, timely results

Who We're Looking For

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Current phlebotomy certification (CPT, PBT, or equivalent state certification) or willingness to obtain certification during employment
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and blood collection techniques
  • Ability to remain calm and professional with diverse patient populations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in specimen handling
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work scheduled hours
