Phlebotomist

Labcorp is recruiting a full-time Phlebotomist for our Irving, Texas location. In this essential laboratory role, you'll collect blood specimens from patients while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and care, supporting diagnostic testing and health outcomes.

What This Role Involves

Working as a Phlebotomist at our Irving facility, you'll perform blood draws in a professional laboratory environment where precision and professionalism are paramount. Your work directly impacts specimen quality for diagnostic analysis. You'll interact with patients throughout the collection process, combining technical skill with patient-centered communication to ensure a safe, comfortable experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary collection methods
• Label and process specimens according to laboratory standards and chain-of-custody requirements
• Record patient information and collection details accurately in laboratory information systems
• Follow established infection control, safety protocols, and bloodborne pathogen procedures
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and compassion

What You Bring

• Current phlebotomy certification (ASCP, NPA, or equivalent credential)
• Demonstrated experience with venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to specimen integrity
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations, laboratory safety standards, and infection prevention
• Ability to manage multiple patients efficiently in a high-volume setting
