Clinical Laboratory Technician – Chemistry

LabCorp is hiring a Clinical Laboratory Technician - Chemistry at our Tampa, Hillsborough County facility. This is a full-time position working Tuesday through Saturday, 1 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. We're looking for a detail-oriented technician to process specimens, run chemistry assays, and ensure every test meets our accuracy standards.

About the Role

As a Clinical Laboratory Technician in Chemistry, you'll be a critical part of our lab team, performing essential work that directly impacts patient care. You'll handle specimen preparation, execute chemistry tests using our laboratory instruments, and maintain meticulous records of all testing activities. This role requires accuracy, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to work independently during early-morning shifts.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate specimens for quality, proper labeling, and testing suitability according to established acceptance criteria
• Perform routine and specialized chemistry procedures following departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to ensure reliable, accurate results
• Record test results accurately and maintain detailed laboratory documentation
• Prepare reagents, calibrate instruments, and perform quality control testing
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to laboratory safety standards
• Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding equipment issues or unusual results

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology preferred
• Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with ability to prioritize multiple specimens
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
• Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and ability to follow protocols consistently
• Comfortable working early morning shifts (1 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) in a fast-paced environment
