About the Role
As Clinical Data Manager I, you are accountable for end-to-end clinical trial data management. Working at the intersection of sponsor expectations and internal technical execution, you'll ensure that study data meets project requirements, maintain the integrity of clinical databases, and coordinate data processes from collection through reconciliation and delivery. Your work directly impacts how quickly and successfully new medical treatments reach patients.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Deliver all data management activities for assigned clinical studies, meeting design specifications and project timelines
- Collaborate with sponsor teams and internal project managers to define and refine data requirements and study setup parameters
- Design, execute, and interpret edit checks to identify and resolve data discrepancies with the study team
- Build and maintain comprehensive study documentation, including specifications, approvals, and audit trails
- Receive, coordinate, and integrate data from external sources—including other laboratories, contract research organizations, or sponsor systems
- Audit clinical databases for accuracy and consistency, identifying errors and working with team members to resolve them
- Track and follow up on outstanding data issues, ensuring resolution before database lock
- Communicate study progress, risks, and milestones to supervisors and stakeholder teams
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Experience with clinical trial processes, data management workflows, or related regulatory environments
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Proficiency in electronic data capture systems, edit check logic, and data reconciliation methods
- Organized approach to documentation and project tracking
- Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
