Manager, Product Design

Position Summary

You'll step into a senior leadership position overseeing multiple design professionals and strategic initiatives spanning complex product areas. Working at platform scale, you'll influence roadmap decisions, collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership, and champion design as a core driver of customer value. Your focus: building world-class design systems, fostering high-performing teams, and delivering cohesive experiences that customers love. What You'll Do

• Mentor and develop multiple Product Designers while setting clear team goals and success metrics aligned with business outcomes
• Influence product priorities and strategic direction by operating at an organization-wide, platform-level perspective
• Own design leadership on critical, high-visibility initiatives that shape Carvana's customer and operational ecosystems
• Partner with product, engineering, and senior stakeholders to ensure design decisions balance user needs, technical feasibility, and business impact
• Build scalable design processes, frameworks, and systems that empower your team and accelerate time-to-impact
• Advocate for design-driven approaches to solving complex problems and demonstrate measurable outcomes across customer experience and innovation

Who We're Looking For

• 10+ years working in product design, UX design, or closely related disciplines
• 3+ years of direct people management and team leadership experience
• Demonstrated track record building and scaling design teams through complex, multi-platform product work
• Expert-level knowledge of design systems, UX strategy, and modern product development workflows
• Ability to influence organizational strategy and drive outcomes across multiple business units
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills; comfort explaining design value to engineers, product managers, and executives
• Fluency in English (written, spoken, and comprehension)
