About the Role
As Head AutomotivePainter on the 2nd shift team, you'll take ownership of finishing our premium used vehicles to Carvana standards. This part-time position is ideal for experienced painters who want flexible scheduling while building work with one of the automotive industry's fastest-growing retailers. You'll lead paint operations during your shift, ensuring every vehicle meets our quality benchmarks before it reaches our customers.
What You'll Do
- Execute multi-layer automotive paint applications including base coats, tri-coats, solid, metallic, and clear coat systems
- Perform precision color matching and paint blending to restore vehicles to factory specifications
- Prepare surfaces, mask areas, and manage spray booth operations with attention to detail and safety
- Inspect finished work for defects and consistency across the 2nd shift fleet
- Maintain equipment, track material usage, and optimize painting workflow
- Collaborate with detailing and quality teams to meet daily production targets
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of professional automotive painting experience
- Proven mastery of multi-coat paint systems and color-matching techniques
- Proficiency with spray guns, sanders, buffers, and refinishing equipment
- Knowledge of automotive paint chemistry, surface preparation, and safety protocols
- Ability to maintain consistent quality under production timelines
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
