Role Overview

Scale AI partners with U.S. government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, and leading institutions to develop reliable AI systems for mission-critical applications. In this position, you'll design and implement the analytical backbone of our public sector business unit—building data warehouses, business intelligence systems, and transformation pipelines that enable data-driven decision-making across our organization. You'll work at scale, processing millions of API transactions and converting them into actionable insights that inform company strategy and customer success.

Your Responsibilities

• Architect and develop end-to-end data pipelines using modern transformation frameworks to create a single source of truth for operations, finance, and engineering teams
• Design and maintain scalable data schemas, warehouse structures, and analytical models that support both ad-hoc exploration and production reporting
• Implement comprehensive data quality frameworks, including automated testing and validation, to ensure accuracy and reliability across all reporting systems
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust, maintainable data solutions
• Continuously optimize existing pipelines and expand self-service analytics capabilities to reduce dependency on manual data work

What We're Looking For

• Active Secret security clearance (Top Secret clearance preferred)
• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or closely related analytics roles involving data modeling and pipeline development
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational database design, with the ability to optimize complex queries and schema structures
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages to support data automation and analysis
• Hands-on experience building transformation layers using DBT, Apache Airflow, or equivalent workflow orchestration tools
• Demonstrated ability to design extensible, performant data architectures that scale with organizational growth
