Privacy & AI Governance Counsel

Anaplan is seeking a Privacy & AI Governance Counsel to join our legal team in Miami, United States. This is a full-time position where you'll lead privacy and artificial intelligence governance initiatives across a global platform trusted by thousands of enterprise organizations, including many Fortune 50 companies.

Role Overview

In this role, you will shape how Anaplan approaches data protection, AI governance, and regulatory compliance. You'll work with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to embed privacy principles directly into our platform architecture and commercial relationships. Your expertise will guide customer agreements, internal policy frameworks, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory strategy. This position requires balancing legal precision with business pragmatism—translating complex regulatory landscapes into actionable strategies that enable innovation while protecting the organization.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements, Business Associate Agreements, data-sharing contracts, and AI-specific terms with both internal stakeholders and external partners
• Lead privacy and AI governance assessments—including Privacy Impact Assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments, and AI risk evaluations—to identify and mitigate compliance gaps
• Develop, document, and maintain privacy governance frameworks, policies, standards, operational procedures, system documentation, and customer-facing consent notices
• Oversee ongoing compliance obligations including cookie compliance, processing activity records management, and data subject access request handling
• Respond to customer questions and formal assessments regarding our privacy practices and AI governance approach
• Monitor and interpret federal, state, and international privacy regulations—including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, state-level privacy laws, HIPAA, the EU AI Act, and emerging standards—and communicate implications for product and business strategy
• Conduct periodic privacy maturity assessments and interface with regulatory authorities to resolve compliance inquiries

Requirements

• Juris Doctor, Master of Laws degree, or equivalent foreign legal qualification
• Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Minimum 5 years of legal experience specializing in privacy and AI law, within a global SaaS environment, technology company, or privacy-focused law practice
• Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, emerging U.S. state privacy statutes, HIPAA, the EU AI Act, and the EU Data Act
• Working familiarity with compliance frameworks including ISO 42001, NIST AI Risk Management Framework, FedRAMP, and DORA
• Current IAPP CIPP/E/US certification (required); IAPP Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional certification (preferred)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing privacy compliance programs on the OneTrust platform
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities; capacity to coordinate across global time zones; proactive, detail-oriented approach; collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
