Therapy Associate – New Jersey

Cerebral seeks a Therapy Associate in New Jersey to provide remote mental health treatment services to clients throughout the United States. As a provisionally licensed clinician (LSW or LAC), you'll deliver evidence-based psychotherapy within a structured training model that prioritizes clinical judgment, professional excellence, and measurable outcomes.

Role Overview

This is a W-2 fee-for-service position offering $55.00 per unit of time worked. You'll begin with an intensive two-week training program delivered live online (12–2 pm ET) covering clinical methodology, case conceptualization, and our integrated care approach. Following launch, ongoing supervision and learning opportunities will guide your clinical development. The work centers on delivering quality care through telehealth—building your practice while meeting accountability standards, growing your caseload to 50 sessions monthly by week 20, and maintaining the therapeutic presence and rigor that drive client transformation.

Your Responsibilities

• Conduct 60-minute individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions using DSM-5 diagnostic frameworks and evidence-based treatment methods
• Participate in regular clinical supervision focusing on case formulation, clinical reasoning, and outcome measurement
• Complete comprehensive treatment planning, assessments, and progress notes within 48 hours of each session
• Establish and maintain a professional presence in all client interactions, prioritizing trust, therapeutic alliance, and measurable progress
• Build your caseload systematically, achieving 50 billable sessions per month by the end of week 20
• Engage with our integrated care team, collaborating with prescribers on medication management and case coordination
• Participate in monthly continuing education through the Cerebral Institute and company professional learning sessions

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related mental health field
• Provisional licensure in New Jersey as LSW or LAC with valid CAQH profile and active NPI number
• Minimum six months of supervised psychotherapy experience (preferred); training program accommodates clinicians still completing required supervision hours
• Proficiency in mental health diagnosis, crisis response, and measurement-informed care practices
• Minimum 20 hours weekly availability, with flexibility to schedule sessions between 6:00 am and 11:30 pm in your timezone; one evening or weekend slot per week required during your first year
• Capability to work independently in a virtual environment while actively seeking supervision and consultation
• Strong technical skills navigating EMR systems, Google Workspace, and telehealth platforms; reliable computer (non-Chromebook) and high-speed internet required
• Note: If you hold an LSW-only license, 50% of your supervision must occur in-person per New Jersey state regulations
