Powtoon is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our full-time team in London, England, United Kingdom. In this role, you'll be instrumental in identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, building our sales pipeline, and driving revenue growth through outbound prospecting and lead qualification.
Role Overview
As a Business Development Representative, you'll be the frontline hunter for new client relationships. Your focus will be on outbound prospecting, lead qualification, and creating meaningful connections with decision-makers across your assigned territory. You'll work closely with our sales and marketing teams to understand our market, refine our messaging, and consistently deliver qualified opportunities that our account executives can convert. This is a hands-on position where your ability to research, communicate persuasively, and build rapport directly impacts our growth trajectory.
Core Duties
- Research and identify target accounts and decision-makers within your assigned market segment
- Execute outbound prospecting campaigns via email, telephone, and LinkedIn messaging
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospect needs and business challenges
- Qualify both inbound and outbound leads using established criteria and frameworks
- Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions and pipeline activity in our CRM system
- Meet or exceed weekly and monthly activity and qualification targets
- Collaborate with the sales team to refine messaging and positioning based on market feedback
- Participate in ongoing product training to stay current with our service offerings and competitive landscape
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a business development, sales development, or similar hunter-focused sales role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage professionals at all levels
- Strong research and organisational abilities; experience with LinkedIn, industry databases, and prospecting tools
- Self-motivated, resilient, and able to handle rejection whilst maintaining enthusiasm and focus
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and consultative sales processes
- Interest in SaaS, enterprise software, or digital solutions; relevant experience is advantageous
