Client Solutions Director / Solution Design Architect

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential marketing services organization in their search for a Client Solutions Director / Solution Design Architect based in Hamburg, Germany. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract with potential to extend, offering primarily remote work with regular business travel across EMEA.

Our client operates at the intersection of marketing transformation, creative operations, and technology. They work with enterprise brands to reimagine how marketing teams function, and they need someone who can translate complex business challenges into viable operating models and commercial frameworks.

This role requires fluency in German or Spanish.

Responsibilities

You will lead the solution design element of new business opportunities, working directly with C-suite marketing leaders to shape how our client delivers value. Your key responsibilities include:

• Leading operational and solution design during client pitches, presenting confidently to CMOs and senior marketing stakeholders
• Formulating solutions in real time during workshops and challenging discussions, maintaining composure and commercial acumen under pressure
• Gathering and analyzing business requirements for new accounts, translating client needs into actionable workflows
• Designing operating models that define roles, governance structures, and ways of working aligned to client objectives
• Building and validating commercial models including team structures, asset-based pricing, and outcome-based frameworks
• Collaborating with commercial and finance teams to pressure-test assumptions, margins, and risk
• Ensuring smooth handovers from pitch to implementation so delivered solutions match what was sold
• Acting as a bridge between clients, technology teams, and delivery functions
• Defining measurement frameworks and analyzing data to support decision-making
• Leading conversations on technology and data when specialists are not present, knowing when to bring in additional expertise

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• 10-15 years of experience in solution design, consulting, strategy, or operations within advertising, marketing, media, or marketing technology
• Proven track record presenting to and influencing C-suite stakeholders, particularly CMOs or equivalent roles
• Hands-on experience building and validating commercial models such as resourcing frameworks, rate cards, and performance-linked structures
• Process-driven mindset with ability to map, challenge, and redesign workflows and operating principles
• Strong working knowledge of advertising and marketing channels including paid media, social, programmatic, search, CRM, and creative production
• Technical fluency in martech, adtech, data platforms, and how they integrate with marketing operations
• Quick-thinking and resilient, comfortable formulating options in high-pressure situations while maintaining client confidence
• Strong analytical skills with ability to turn data into actionable insights and recommendations
• Flexibility to travel regularly for client engagements, primarily across Europe
• Fluency in German or Spanish required

Desirable experience:

• Contributing to new business wins, RFPs, and pitch processes
• Working in agency, consultancy, or in-house marketing transformation environments
• Managing global or multi-market clients and remote, cross-functional teams
