Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking a Principal Engineer to lead their hyperscale simulation software initiatives. In this founding-level technical leadership role, you will:
- Define and own the overarching product and technical strategy for GPU-based simulation, digital twins, and embodied AI training workloads
- Shape the technical roadmap in partnership with product, research, and commercial stakeholders
- Lead architectural decisions across the full stack—from bare-metal GPU/CPU topology through orchestration layers to application-facing APIs
- Partner directly with enterprise customers and strategic accounts to translate platform capabilities into deployed, high-value solutions
- Build and architect distributed systems and real-time infrastructure that support simulation-driven autonomous AI at hyperscale
- Drive commercial success by identifying capability gaps between customer workflows and existing platform features
- Navigate complex cross-functional alignment to resolve technical and business challenges simultaneously
What We're Looking For
Our client needs an exceptional technical leader with:
- Proven track record of founding, leading, or acting as an early architect of deep-tech platforms that successfully reached commercial deployment (e.g., AI/ML, simulation, digital twins, or defense systems)
- Deep, hands-on experience building real-time distributed systems under strict latency, scale, and resilience constraints
- Strong technical intuition for where legacy architectures break down at scale, with creativity to invent new approaches rather than simply extending existing ones
- Demonstrated ability to operate fluidly across system architecture, product strategy, and business development simultaneously
- Experience navigating full-stack architectural design, with strong understanding of bare-metal topologies, orchestration layers, and application APIs
- Track record of driving both technical excellence and substantial business outcomes, acting as the bridge between enterprise customers and complex engineering stacks
- Passion for pioneering deep-tech solutions from initial architectural design through to high-revenue commercial deployment
