Product Manager – Horizontal Platform Poseidon

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential payments technology organization seeking a Product Manager to lead their horizontal platform strategy across the DACH region. In this role, you will own the terminal application roadmap that powers one of Europe's most sophisticated payment markets.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Managing end-to-end release planning and prioritization across a multi-product portfolio spanning attended and unattended terminals, gateway solutions, and third-party application environments
• Directing payment method implementation including girocard, international card schemes, electronic direct debit, alternative payment methods, cashback, instalments, and emerging solutions
• Overseeing customer-specific application variants and defending or consolidating variant strategies on the product roadmap
• Driving terminal and estate management initiatives including remote updates, key management, and certificate management for enterprise deployments
• Coordinating certification pipeline sequencing across PCI-PTS, P2PE, GBIC, and Deutsche Kreditwirtschaft certification cycles to ensure sales pipeline continuity
• Maintaining alignment with scheme operators and regulatory bodies including Deutsche Kreditwirtschaft, EURO Kartensysteme, and equivalent organizations in Austria and Switzerland
• Partnering with regional sales and operations leadership on feature commitments, customer escalations, and strategic planning
• Collaborating closely with engineering and hardware teams on release readiness, supply chain considerations, and new form factor launches

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a candidate with deep DACH payments expertise and the technical fluency to manage complex platform decisions:

• Native or business-fluent German language skills
• 5+ years of product management experience in the DACH or European payments space, ideally with a terminal vendor, payment service provider, acquirer, or network operator
• Comprehensive knowledge of payment methods including girocard, international card schemes, SoftPOS, alternative payment methods, and SEPA direct debit
• Technical foundation in ZVT-H, EMV kernel architecture, PCI-PTS, P2PE, and PSD2 SCA requirements—you should be comfortable reading engineering specifications and certification reports independently
• Proven ability to manage multi-product, multi-customer release matrices and drive prioritization trade-offs
• Understanding of regulatory context including BaFin/ZAG frameworks, Deutsche Kreditwirtschaft requirements, and GBIC—you know when feature changes trigger approval processes
• Experience with terminal management systems and how they integrate across enterprise payment estates
