Senior Solutions Engineer – Payward Services

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that operates a leading enterprise infrastructure platform in the digital finance space. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to join their pre-sales function in the United Kingdom.

This is a high-impact execution role focused squarely on pre-sales activities. You'll partner with sales leadership to run technical discovery, design winning solutions, and build proof-of-concepts that close deals. Working within established frameworks and playbooks, you'll bring deep technical expertise to execute deal by deal, operating as a core contributor on the pre-sales team.

Responsibilities

• Run technical discovery with prospective customers alongside sales teams — mapping their architecture, constraints, and compliance requirements to the platform's product suite
• Surface recurring customer requests and product gaps from your deals to inform the broader product roadmap
• Design tailored solutions spanning existing offerings, customizations, bespoke integrations, or hands-on work directly in customer codebases
• Scope and build proof-of-concepts that demonstrate technical feasibility and win deals
• Own structured handoffs to implementation teams — delivering PoCs, solution design documentation, and knowledge transfer sessions
• Execute pre-sales playbooks including discovery frameworks, solution templates, PoC standards, and handoff runbooks
• Contribute improvements back to the team based on what works in the field

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 4+ years in a technical pre-sales role (solutions engineering or solutions architecture) at a B2B API or infrastructure company
• Proven track record executing the technical pre-sales motion — discovery, solution design, PoC delivery, and deal-winning
• Fluency with REST/WebSocket APIs, authentication patterns (OAuth, JWT), webhook architecture, and integration debugging
• Experience designing and building complex integrations for technical buyers at fintechs, banks, or neobanks — including customizations and bespoke work
• Strong knowledge transfer skills — ability to package solution designs for implementation teams to execute faithfully
• Clear, structured communication skills for running discovery calls, design reviews, and handoff debriefs
• Experience writing RFPs and documenting solution approaches that clearly communicate product capabilities and customizations

Nice to have:

• Domain knowledge in digital assets — trading, custody, KYC, staking, or payment mechanisms
• Experience with embedded finance or infrastructure-as-a-service products
• Hands-on experience with AI development tools for rapid prototyping
• Familiarity with demonstration tools for proof-of-concept sales environments
