Associate II, Product Operations

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in the United Kingdom that is building consumer banking and payments products. This is a hands-on Product Operations role supporting a fast-moving team that bridges crypto and everyday financial services. You'll be one of two professionals in this function, reporting to the Manager of Product Operations and working at the intersection of compliance, risk, vendor management, and product delivery.

This role demands someone who can coordinate complex cross-functional dependencies, surface operational risks early, and ensure new features launch safely without regulatory or vendor surprises. You'll maintain the operational intelligence that keeps the product team moving quickly while staying compliant.

Responsibilities

Compliance & Risk Coordination

• Maintain product-specific trackers for open compliance and legal items, including owners, status, and milestones
• Triage new features against regulatory requirements before development begins and ensure sign-offs are built into delivery timelines
• Partner with fraud teams to ensure controls and velocity rules are integrated into feature design for card and payment products
• Ensure fraud and customer engagement teams have the tooling, access, documentation, and support materials ready before new launches
• Support incident response for product issues and drive post-incident learnings into product improvements

Third Party Vendor Management

• Own vendor trackers covering status, actions, contacts, and upcoming milestones for product-critical partners
• Drive the cadence for vendor performance reviews and track follow-up actions to completion
• Monitor vendor roadmaps and capabilities; produce briefings on how vendor developments create opportunities or constraints for the product

Management Information & Feature Performance

• Ensure experiments and launches are supported by fraud, dispute, customer engagement metrics alongside commercial KPIs
• Interpret operational data to identify emerging issues and escalate to the appropriate teams
• Drive follow-through on cross-functional findings, whether compliance-related or vendor-driven

Strategic Market Intelligence

• Monitor competitor changes to features, pricing, and risk positioning
• Track regulatory and market developments affecting the product roadmap
• Identify vendor capabilities that could enable new features or highlight technical constraints

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years in product operations, strategy, or programme management within consumer fintech, payments, or banking—ideally with card or payments product exposure
• Strong working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance landscape for consumer financial products in one or more regions
• Experience working with or within fraud and risk functions; understanding of how fraud controls interact with product design
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams across different stakeholders and timelines without losing track of details
• Track record of translating complex operational data into clear, actionable insights for product and leadership teams
• Structured thinking with the ability to zoom in on details and zoom out for strategic perspective
• Strong communication skills to bridge compliance, risk, engineering, and product teams

Preferred Experience

• Experience with card issuing programmes, including scheme rules, chargeback processes, and fraud typologies
• Familiarity with banking and payments vendors such as BIN sponsors, scheme processors, or payment aggregators
• Prior experience at a fast-scaling consumer fintech or digital banking organization
• Exposure to digital assets or crypto products
