Senior Electrical Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential medical device organization seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their innovative product development team in Wessling, Germany. In this role, you will design, implement, and test electrical components for advanced medical systems while collaborating closely with systems engineers, software developers, quality teams, and regulatory affairs.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing power and control electronic boards for complex medical devices
• Creating electrical circuit diagrams, wiring schematics, and safety concepts to ensure functional safety
• Defining technical requirements and specifications for electrical systems
• Producing component specifications, risk analyses, DFMEA documentation, and verification reports in compliance with international standards (CE, FDA, MHLW)
• Executing verification testing to validate electrical components and system requirements
• Supporting product lifecycle management and troubleshooting electrical issues in production
• Coordinating engineering tasks during prototype setup and start-up phases
• Working with third-party suppliers and contractors on electrical development activities
• Monitoring technological trends and competitive developments in electronics
• Representing engineering perspectives in cross-functional project meetings

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a seasoned electrical engineer with a strong foundation in medical device development:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field
• Minimum 7 years of experience developing electrical devices, preferably medical systems
• Advanced knowledge of power electronics, digital and analog circuits, and microprocessor technology
• Proven experience designing and developing power and digital electronic boards
• In-depth understanding of EMI/EMC design principles and electrical safety requirements
• Experience creating electrical schematics and circuit diagrams
• Familiarity with PC-controlled systems and design transfer to production
• Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR 820.30, IEC 14971, IEC 62366, IEC 60601-1, and IEC 60601-1-2 standards
• Proficiency with Altium, Eagle, OrCAD PSpice, or similar design tools; experience with MATLAB and multiphysics simulation a plus
• Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or CodeBeamer
• Strong analytical skills, creativity, and ability to work independently
• Team-oriented mindset with assertiveness and entrepreneurial spirit
• Fluent German and English communication skills
