Electronics / Software Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential engineering consultancy seeking an experienced Electronics and/or Software Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary team. This is a remote position based in the United Kingdom requiring UK security clearance eligibility.

Our client tackles complex technical challenges across consumer devices, industrial systems, and defence sectors. You'll work on embedded systems ranging from robotics applications to secure communications platforms, contributing to over 300 projects annually alongside a cohesive team of experts in electronics, embedded software, control systems, and algorithm design.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded systems for diverse applications and products as part of multi-disciplinary project teams
• Develop embedded software in C for resource-constrained targets
• Create digital hardware designs using SystemVerilog or VHDL for FPGAs
• Design and test PCBs for analogue and digital circuits
• Work across communications, control systems, and information engineering domains
• Interact directly with clients throughout project lifecycles, from requirements capture through final handover
• Support and mentor junior engineers while expanding your own technical skillset
• Balance work across multiple concurrent projects in different technical disciplines

What We're Looking For

• Excellent degree or PhD in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, computer science, physics, or related field
• Prior industrial experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Software implementation in C, C++, Rust, or similar programming languages
  • PCB design
  • Digital electronics (processors, memory, DSP, Verilog, VHDL)
  • Analogue electronics (general circuits, interfaces, RF, power)
• Enthusiasm for learning new technical disciplines and picking up skills quickly
• Rigorous approach to solving real-world engineering problems
• Ability to obtain UK Security Check level clearance
• Eligibility to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law
• Willingness to undergo UK Government National Security Vetting
