We are representing a confidential logistics organization specializing in chemical industry operations across multiple sites in Germany. Our talent team is seeking a Rail Personnel Scheduler (m/f/d) to join their operations in Dormagen on a full-time basis. This role offers significant responsibility in shaping the future of personnel management within rail logistics operations.

Responsibilities

As Rail Personnel Scheduler, you will be responsible for operational and cross-location personnel scheduling for the rail division, ensuring reliable coverage across all shifts and services. Your key duties include:

• Plan, control, and optimize personnel deployment considering qualifications, vacation schedules, sick leave, and other absences
• Develop and advance personnel scheduling processes, establishing transparent substitute and backup concepts with clear procedures
• Support professional personnel management through meaningful metrics and KPIs
• Collaborate closely with operational management, control centers, and HR teams for efficient deployment planning
• Drive digitalization of planning and scheduling processes
• Support implementation of new railway software systems
• Transform existing processes into future-ready digital workflows
• Work alongside senior rail operations leadership to develop new structures and modern cross-location personnel planning systems

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings proven experience in personnel scheduling and a passion for process improvement:

• Several years of experience in personnel scheduling, deployment planning, or shift coordination
• Confident handling of complex shift systems and short-notice staffing challenges
• Strong organizational skills with structured, solution-oriented work methods
• Understanding of 24/7 operational requirements
• High IT and software affinity
• Enthusiasm for developing processes, building new structures, and actively shaping digitalization initiatives
• Strong communication skills and assertiveness
• Experience in railway or industrial rail environments is highly desirable
• Fluency in German required for this role
