About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential automotive technology client in Koblenz, Germany. We are seeking an experienced AUTOSAR Embedded Software Engineer to join their development organization working on advanced driver assistance and autonomous driving platforms.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Koblenz. Candidates must be authorized to work in Germany or qualify for employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Develop and configure AUTOSAR modules below the RTE layer
- Implement software components on top of the RTE
- Create design documentation, software requirements, unit tests, and test cases
- Establish bi-directional traceability between requirements and design
- Optimize design and code for resource consumption
- Debug on bench and in-vehicle using Lauterbach debuggers, DLT, and XCP
- Participate in design, code, and requirements reviews
- Perform AUTOSAR embedded software integration
- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis
- Participate in internal team meetings and coordinate with suppliers
- Facilitate knowledge transfer within development teams
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent technical field (Master's degree strongly preferred)
- 4+ years of embedded software experience in the automotive electrical and electronics industry
- AUTOSAR expertise (Adaptive AUTOSAR experience is a plus)
- Strong customer orientation and deadline management skills
- Deep passion for problem-solving and root cause analysis
- Ability to collaborate in dynamic, global team environments and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred:
- Scripting experience with Python or CAPL
- Familiarity with software engineering tools such as JIRA and GIT
- Knowledge of UDS protocol, bootloader development, or OEM-specific implementations
- Experience with NXP processors and QNX operating systems
- Expertise in AUTOSAR abstraction layers (Mcu, Wdg, Gpt, Dio, Port, Icu)
- Experience with AUTOSAR BSW and RTE architecture, specifications, and configuration tools
- Strong C programming fundamentals and embedded system concepts
- Knowledge of Automotive SPICE (ISO 15504), Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Agile methodologies, or MISRA C
- Experience with Vector products (CANoe, CANape, vFlash, vT Family)
- Advanced debugging skills with tools like Lauterbach Trace32
