About This Role

We are representing a confidential financial services organization in Berlin seeking an experienced Tax Associate (Steuerfachangestellte:r) to join their operations team. This is not a traditional tax firm position—our client is reimagining how tax services are delivered to small and medium-sized businesses through technology and modern workflows.

In this role, you'll work closely with clients and internal teams, taking ownership of tax process quality while actively contributing to making operations more efficient. Responsibilities

• Manage and process tax matters for SME clients, from bookkeeping through tax return preparation
• Ensure high-quality, timely service delivery for clients on an end-to-end basis
• Collaborate closely with tax advisors and product teams to continuously improve processes
• Independently identify manual, repetitive tasks and actively work to automate or optimize them
• Utilize AI-supported platforms and digital tools to increase efficiency and quality in daily work
• Communicate with clients at a high professional level—clearly, empathetically, and solution-oriented
• Critically reflect on your own working methods: What can I learn? What can I do better? How can I help the team become more efficient?

What We're Looking For

• Completed training as Steuerfachangestellte:r or comparable qualification with at least 5 years of professional experience
• You want more than pure processing work—you think critically, question processes, and want to create real value
• Strong initiative: You don't wait to be told what to do; you recognize what's needed and take action
• No hesitation around new tools and technologies: you're curious, learn quickly, and want to actively master digital working methods
• Critical self-reflection: You know your strengths, recognize gaps, and actively work to develop yourself and your team
• Quality consciousness: You deliver carefully, reliably, and with genuine standards for your own work
• Experience in a startup or high-growth environment is a clear plus
• You work completely on-site at the Berlin office
• Fluent German required; English skills advantageous

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience level and qualifications.
